What is Big Blue Journey?

A three-day summer camp focused on developing the skills needed to succeed in high school and beyond. Held on the USU Logan campus, the eighth-grade participants lived a simulation of college life in order to help them transitioning to ninth grade, and inspire them to make college preparation a priority in high school.

FAQS About Big Blue Journey

Students must apply for Big Blue Journey 2015 by filling out the online application no later than March 31, 2015. Afterwards, acceptance letters will be mailed to students from April 10-April 17. Students will be given directions on how to register for camp in the letter.

In order to attend camp both student and parent/guardian must sign and return the Informed ConsentForm by May 15, 2015 to their school site coordinator.

It will cost absolutely nothing! We invite every GEAR UP student who is transitioning from 8th grade to 9th grade to apply.

What should students bring to camp?

We highly suggest students read the Items to Pack section of our General Information Page. In an effort to protect personal possessions, we strongly encourage students to keep electronics and other valuable items at home.

What if my student missed the deadline to apply for camp or to register?
